COURSE PREREQUISITES – You must have a basic understanding of how to use your computer’s browser to find a site on the internet.
COURSE DESCRIPTION - Do you remember every online account you've ever made? Just think of how many times you've created a username and password just to read an article, access social media like Facebook, purchase something from Amazon, access your credit card statements or even do online banking.
If you used the same username and password for every site, then every account you have is in danger. A hacker who gets your account from one site can get access to your other accounts. And unfortunately, there are several programs attackers can use to help guess or "crack" passwords. But there is an answer.
Choosing strong passwords and keeping them confidential can make it more difficult for others to access your information. In addition, you should use different passwords on different systems and accounts. But if you have more than just a couple of online accounts, the issue becomes “how do I remember all these different, complex, passwords?”
This one session class is NOT on cyber security, but we will introduce you to LastPass, a free yet easy-to-use password manager that stores your passwords to that only you can access the from any of your online devices. We will demonstrate how to set it up and make it work for you.
