COURSE DESCRIPTION - Two 75 minute sessions. You can attend either session or both.

Session 1 QUICKEN BASICS – The techniques taught will not require any linking to The Internet or to your bank. There will be a short review of helpful Apple Shortcuts that make using Quicken easier. There will be a review of Quicken, the Quicken menus, and the Quicken icons used. Apple Calendars’ app will be used so can see when a bill is due.  Quicken Help will show you what is available in case you need it.

Session 2 BUDGETING WITH QUICKEN – The techniques taught will not require any linking to The Internet or to your bank. This session will help you map your Quicken accounts, so you only have to enter data once using the concept of “linking” accounts. It will also show you how to link a Payee with a Category so it will happen automatically. (Less typing for you.) You will be shown how to prepare a quick year’s worth of upcoming expenses quickly, so you can predict how much you will have available for a trip or a big expense and have that money already in your Quicken Savings Account. This class will review how to reconcile your account, make a split transaction, and other useful tricks and tips.

COURSE MATERIALS – This class will be using Zoom. Have Quicken Deluxe installed on your computer and make a backup file for it. You will use your backup file to “practice” with. I will send you a set of my slides before class. Please write down any questions you may have before class. If you need special accommodations, let the instructor know in an email when you register for the class.
