Windows 11: File Explorer & File Management
This class is for those new to Windows 11 (or upgraded from Win10). NOTE: Win 11 File Explorer has SIGNIFICANT upgrades. Please bring a flash drive if you want a copy of the class presentation (PowerPoint, PDF and Videos used in class.)
In this class we’ll be covering the following with some hands-on exercise
- Basics and Best practices: Working with Files and Folders
- How to create, rename, movie, & delete files and folders
- Navigation with the Address Bar (path of the currently selected folder)
- File extensions (".txt", ".jpg", ".pdf"). How PC uses for data types and program association.
- File Explorer Icons and shortcuts; Working with multiple files at the same time
- Finding files on your computer: Downloads, Documents, Desktop, Pictures, etc.
- How the Recycle Bin works
- Copy & paste –the new File Explorer has a more intuitive and visually driven interface.
- Using Windows Clipboard to store multiple copied items (text, image.) and easily paste them later.
- Working with Zip files & Hidden files
- Use the “Snipping Tool” to capture and paste screenshots
- Snap layouts Overview–Details in the “Getting Familiar Class”
Prerequisites: Attendance in the "Getting Familiar" class or a working knowledge of Windows 11 GUI, Start Menu, and how to open; switch, move, & resize windows (See Windows 11: Getting Familiar with your PC class). Bring a flash drive to download the class presentation
