ASK RANDI A QUESTION - Basic Apple Programs

COURSE PREREQUISITES - Have a working knowledge of your computer and your mobile devices. (iPhone and iPad) Make sure you have the latest operating system and programs on your computers and mobile devices. (Minimum OS and iOS requirements: macOS 10.5.3 aka Catalina, iOS 13.3.1, and iPadOS 13.3.1. All apps and programs need to be up to date.) Have intermediate computer skills. Arrive 10 minutes early to class to make sure your computer and mobile devices have access to the classroom’s wireless network or if you don’t know how to transfer files to a flash aka thumb aka USB drive.

COURSE DESCRIPTION - One 75 minute session.

This class is not for beginners.

This class is for the Mac User who has unanswered “how to” questions about Apple software: Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders and Notes, to name a few. Any Apple Program can be answered except for Pages and Numbers. (I’ll provide you with where you can go to learn them. The class will begin with where to get help; how to find answers; and how to become independent. You will be given a set of questions and answers asked by previous students to create a self-help notebook.  The majority of the class will be student question driven and the instructor will demonstrate the answer. If the instructor cannot answer the question, the student will be told which resources to explore. (Duck Duck Go, Genius Bar, Apple Care, or the Apple website Support area.) Students questions will be written up and answered via email after class.

COURSE MATERIALS - Know your user name and passwords. Bring a 4GB Flash aka Thumb aka USB drive with at least 2GB of free space to class. You will be given a current set of files used in class. Let the instructor know if you will want to be assigned to a SBCC Mac classroom computer or if you will be bringing your own laptop or want to use just your iPad.  If you need special accommodations, let the instructor know in an email when you register for the class.
