1:00 Google Maps and Earth

PREREQUISITES: Familiar with Windows &, 8.1 or 10. Mac users will find that much material is of use as well.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Three 75 minute sessions - once weekly for 3 weeks.

Google Maps is a highly detailed dynamic interactive mapping service covering most of the world. You may choose to display in graphic format, in satellite photo form or in a combined format. The level of detail can be precise enough to count sunbathers on a beach. Precise directions between locations are available as well.

Google Earth adds a new dimension to mapping services – the third dimension! The idea is simple - and a lot of fun!! It's a globe that sits inside your PC. You point and zoom to anyplace on the planet that you want to explore. Detailed satellite images and local facts zoom into view. The sensation is like taking a helicopter tour that can go anywhere you can imagine as soon as you can think of it! Interesting additions include a flight simulator, a planetarium, megapixel photos, street level views and new information every month.

Downloading, installing and navigating both FREE programs will be included.

COURSE MATERIALS - Bring a personal Flash or Jump drive for transporting files between the classroom and home. You may bring your own laptop if you wish.
