iBOOKS TIPS & TRICKS
COURSE PREREQUISITES - Have a working knowledge of your computer and your mobile devices. (iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch) Make sure you have the latest Mac operating system, iOS on your devices, and programs on your computers and mobile devices. Have intermediate computer, iPad, and iPhone skills. Arrive 15 minutes early to the first class to make sure your computer and mobile devices have access to the classroom’s wireless network or if you don’t know how to transfer files to a flash aka thumb aka USB drive.
COURSE DESCRIPTION - Two 75 minute sessions with a break.
This class is not for beginners.
It’s for the Mac User who wants to get or share books, articles, and PDFs onto their computer and mobile devices into iBooks from the iBooks Store, a website, or something personal. iBooks can be used to help organize your important PDF files. This class will cover utilizing teacher guided or directed hands-on activities for the students to do in class.
- Working with the list view
- Moving items around
- Deleting PDFs
- Using iBooks Sync.
COURSE MATERIALS - Know your iTunes and iBook Store user name and passwords. You will only access the iBook Store on your laptop, iPad, or iPhone – not on a classroom Mac. Bring a 4GB Flash aka Thumb aka USB drive with at least 2GB of free space to class. You will be given a current set of files used in class. If you haven’t already, notify the instructor prior to class if you wish to use a SBCC computer or if you are bringing your own laptop. (It changes how many people can participate in the class.)
