This class will cover the NEW "Gutenberg" Wordpress update. If Gutenberg has not launched by class date, this class will be postponed until a later date, to be announced.



CLASS ENROLLMENT: 12 maximum.

PREREQUISITES: Successful completion Windows 7 class or comfortable navigating and using Windows 7 or Mac system.  You must be totally comfortable using the Internet and Web browser. REMEDIAL INSTRUCTION ON INTERNET USE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.

DATES/TIMES:  Thursdays, October 4, 11, 18, 25; 9:00 - 10:20 am.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Four 75 minute sessions

This class will teach you how to create your own Website using the popular Wordpress system.

Wordpress is a free online content management system that will allow you to structure your Website, build web pages and links, add and edit page content, and even display pictures and videos.  During this course you will create and refine your own Website that will be suitable for personal or business applications.

In this structured, hands-on class, you will:

  • Learn the basics of Website layout and design
  • Open your own free Wordpress account
  • Select a visual theme for your Website
  • Add new pages and links to your Website
  • Add text and images to your Web pages

When you have completed this class, you will have your own Website running on the Internet, available to the world. Those REALLY interested in maximizing and using your Website should consider taking the CREATE A WEBSITE II class immediately following the completion of this class.

CLASS MATERIALS:  Class notes and help files will be distributed via a class Website. You will want to bring files to be uploaded to your Website, such as pictures and document files on a Flash drive.
