1 PM - Options for Storing Your Digital Photographs

Few things are more frustrating than being unable to locate the great picture you took last year. Now that taking photos has become so easy and inexpensive, people are taking many more photographs than in the past. If you store them properly, you can access them for years to come.

The storage issue is a concern for everyone, whether you use a DSLR or point-and-shoot camera or snap photos on your smartphone. While it is important to save those images to share later, space on hard drives and phones is limited.

Some people choose to have prints made of their photographs, and this is one way to preserve memories over a long period. However, it remains important to create backup copies of digital images because neither prints nor computers are infallible. It is always best to have another copy of your files just in case.

So in this one session class we’ll talk about the three main types of digital storage: magnetic, optical, and cloud.  We’ll talk about the pro’s and con’s of each and help you decide on a storage plan for your valuable digital photographs.
