MS WORD BASIC
COURSE ENROLLMENT - Enrollment for this class is limited to 12 students
COURSE LOCATION - Silicon room at the HOA2 Arts and Crafts Center
PREREQUISITES - Successful completion of a Windows class or comfortable navigating and using Windows directories. Being able to use the Windows system is important. NOT FOR MACINTOSH USERS.
COURSE DESCRIPTION - Four 75 minute sessions over 4 weeks.
This is a course designed to expose the student to basic principles of word processing using Microsoft WORD 2016 program. The features, techniques and menus are similar to MS Word 2007, 2010, and 2013 (PC), but not applicable to previous versions of WORD or any MACINTOSH versions. The course includes an overview of the WORD desktop. After this overview, the class delves into the many functions and features of the program throughout the remainder of the course.
Topic will include:
-Desktop, Ribbon, Text Formatting, Editing of Documents
- Spacing, Page Layout, Page Formatting
-Insertion of Photos, Word Art and Clip Art
- Spell checking, Headers, Footers, Columns, Tables
This course is not meant for experienced Word users.
COURSE MATERIALS - Microsoft Office Word 2013 Plain and Simple is available at the classroom for $20. The 2016 version is available from Amazon. Have a personal Flash drive for transporting files between the classroom and home.
